History

Gordon K. Sattro has spent years working alongside brilliant entrepreneurs, inspired entertainers, and clients who needed a fighter in their corner. Over the course of his career, Mr. Sattro worked for a number of firms and corporations, including one of the most sought-after corporate firms in the country. He uniquely combines his experience from the boardrooms of Los Angeles and the disputes on Hollywood sets to ensure a full suite of services is available to meet the needs of his diverse clientele.

Mr. Sattro found that serving his clients well meant assembling a team with complementary practice areas, capable of acting as a full solution to their legal needs. Those areas intersect constantly, and that overlap made him eager to cultivate a practice of his own, one that connects his command of the business arena with the interests of those in the entertainment industry, and extends to individuals seeking justice after an injury through the firm's Call Big G personal injury division.

Mr. Sattro believes that what wins a case and what makes a creative business thrive is the same thing: the passion that drives it. He brings that passion to Sattro Law Group every day.

Gordon K. Sattro

Founder and Managing Partner

Gordon K. Sattro is the Founding and Managing Partner of Sattro Law Group, P.C. He counsels clients across entertainment, corporate, and litigation matters, pairing more than two decades in the entertainment industry with executive-level business experience earned at the boardroom level.

Entertainment

Mr. Sattro has worked in the entertainment industry since the early 2000s, representing actors, directors, writers, producers, singers, songwriters, and DJs. As the Founding Partner of Sattro Law Group, he assembled a team of accomplished attorneys to deliver a full suite of services to entertainment clients. Drawing on executive-level experience, he represents clients in transactions involving the development, financing, production, and distribution of home video, motion picture, television, music, and interactive entertainment projects. Because he understands the day-to-day operating challenges his clients face, he brings practical, first-hand expertise to taking a film to market or structuring a music licensing deal.

Corporate Law

As a former executive for a Fortune 500 company and a Director of Corporate Development and Strategy for another, Mr. Sattro developed the ability to move a room through both words and action. Applying what he learned in the boardroom, he serves his clients' needs in ways many attorneys cannot, and holds the attention of the room when it matters most. He has formed dozens of corporations, companies, partnerships, and nonprofits, and has guided them through needs ranging from regulatory compliance to employment matters. As an active member of the Silicon Beach community, Mr. Sattro understands the start-up landscape and helps technology entrepreneurs transition a business from an idea into an industry leader.

Litigation

Mr. Sattro has represented numerous high-profile plaintiffs to success in the courtroom across a range of disputes, recovering hundreds of thousands of dollars on behalf of his clients. He knows how to assess a matter placed before him, how to strategize toward a prompt and satisfactory settlement, and, when necessary, how to try a case to ensure his clients are made whole. Whether a matter is a high-profile dispute requiring media appearances or a confidential arbitration, Mr. Sattro brings the competence and judgment to guide his clients through diverse and challenging environments.

Education and Credentials

Mr. Sattro earned his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Fullerton. He serves as an adjunct professor of corporate law and intellectual property at Southwestern Law School and is licensed by the State Bar of California (SBN 288947).

Beyond the Practice

Outside the office, Gordon K. Sattro is an avid hiker, paddleboarder, and outdoor advocate. He founded Hail to the Trail, a California nonprofit, and Paddle Boarding SD, a Mission Bay community, and serves as a hike lead for Make-A-Wish San Diego. His trail record spans the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim, Mount Whitney, Mount Fuji, Half Dome, and Kauai's Kalalau Trail, and his writing and speaking explore the connection between the outdoors and purpose, captured in his personal ethos, "Turning Peaks, Paddles & Purpose into Possibility."
